Chicago Sun-Times
An intriguing movie, ambitious and inventive, and almost worth seeing just for Anjelica Huston's obvious delight in playing a completely uncompromised villainess. - 75
Washington Post
The Witches is a wickedly funny final bow for Muppeteer Jim Henson. - 75
Christian Science Monitor
The scenes of magic and mayhem are peppered with sly surprises, and Anjelica Huston plays the wildest wicked witch since Dorothy got back from Oz.
