Los Angeles Times
Prechezer's cast is ingratiating and attractive, and Blue Juice is as buoyant as its terrific rock score. - 90
Variety
Absolutely charming, unabashedly offbeat Blue Juice is a quirky comedy billed as Britain's first surf pic. - 80
Empire
Although this may sometimes appear to be simply a bawdy soap opera, first-time director Prechezer injects such joie de vivre into proceedings that it scarcely matters. - 63
TV Guide Magazine
Ramshackle as comedy and mundane as drama, this noisily energetic and splashily - literally - photographed hang-ten flick doesn't wipe out due to spectacular surfing stunts and the fun of seeing McGregor and Zeta-Jones in pre-stardom mode. - 38
The Globe and Mail (Toronto)
The movie seems much, much longer than its 90-minute running time. [15 June 1998]
