        Time Out

        Clichéd and formulaic.
      • 25

        San Francisco Chronicle

The bad news is that the characters and situations are platitudes and the story is so heavy-handed that the film is hard to sit through.
      • 25

        New York Post

Makes little attempt to be credible or original. And the acting is poor.
      • 20

        Village Voice

        Misery pile-up.
      • 20

        Los Angeles Times

The whole thing plays like a bad Equity-waiver one-act.
      • 10

        Variety

A waste of a talented, earnest cast, this borderline offensive indie, set for an Oct. 2 limited release, shouldn't take up too much valuable theater space before fading away.
      • 10

        The New York Times

This laughably clichéd dive into sexual masochism and hardscrabble survival replaces story with outline and characters with place holders.
