    • 50

      Arizona Republic

A harmless little mess of a movie whose cast you've mostly heard of, including Tim Allen, who also directed.
    • 50

      Variety

Looking and sounding like a second-tier '80s made-for-cabler, Crazy on the Outside is the sort of bland trifle one might watch to kill time during an extended flight.
    • 40

      The Hollywood Reporter

With neither the dramatic nor comedic aspects of the story line being remotely convincing, the best efforts of the talented cast go for naught.
    • 30

      L.A. Weekly

Tim Allen returns to lowest-common-denominator comedy as the star of his own ill-advised, irritating directorial debut.

      New York Daily News

John Peaslee's Screenwriting 101-style script has merely left everyone floating on their own.
    • 16

      Entertainment Weekly

Each actor appears to have received the script to a different movie, while Allen adds his own directorial touch of sexual vulgarity.

      Rolling Stone

Allen screws up his directing debut with a script that smothers his wit in a blanket of bland.
