Washington Post
It is surprising that no matter how much we know what will happen, we never stop watching. - 70
New Times (L.A.)
While the specifics of the plot are often as fragile as an actual glass house, those looking for a good night of disposable entertainment will find it here. - 58
Seattle Post-Intelligencer
Has a good cast, a nicely sustained mood of paranoia and several genuinely creepy moments, but ultimately ends up being one more highly formulaic teen screamer. - 58
Entertainment Weekly
As the supporting cast gets winnowed away, though, we're left with a cat-and-mouse game between girl and murderous faux-dad that's simply boilerplate. - 50
Chicago Sun-Times
If you want to see a great movie about a couple of kids endangered by a sinister guardian, rent "Night of the Hunter." Watching The Glass House has all the elements for a better film, but doesn't trust the audience to keep up with them. - 40
TV Guide Magazine
The cast, including genre veteran Bruce Dern as a kindly lawyer, do their best with the material, but you can't make a crackling thriller out of soggy cliches. - 25
San Francisco Chronicle
This is trash on a big budget, but trash nonetheless. - 20
The New York Times
The Glass House is hardly insane, just absurd, and the only damage it does is to itself.
