The New York Times
It is all reminiscent of some of those gay, galvanic larks that Gregory LaCava and Leo McCarey used to make ten or more years ago. And a higher recommendation we can't give to a light summer show. - 75
Observer
Wholly delightful, utterly inconsequential comedy. [07 Aug 2005, p.87] - 70
Variety
Chuckles get heartier and heartier as adult Grant plays at being a juvenile at basketball games, school picnics, etc. It’s done with slapstick touch that pays off. - 70
Orlando Sentinel
The Bachelor and the Bobby-Soxer is a delightful comedy about a playboy artist who is ordered to escort a judge's impressionable teen-age sister everywhere. [16 Jan 1990, p.4] - 60
TV Guide Magazine
Silly premise allows sophisticated Grant to explode into side-splitting antics, aping the teenaged set. If you adore Grant, you'll enjoy this farce, but Loy's breezy charm is wasted and Temple has reached that age where her preciousness can be irritating to behold. - 40
Chicago Reader
Grant seems stymied in this claustrophobic, essentially misogynistic material, and director Irving Reis isn’t the man to pull him out.
