The Hollywood Reporter
Like a frumpy version of "Knocked Up" playing out in a sadder, stranger world, Barry Munday offers two icky humans and hopes that, by the tale's end, we'll be happy they're procreating. - 50
Variety
Uneven but modestly diverting. - 40
Los Angeles Times
Greer's wallflower is bitter, and their respective families - played by Jean Smart, Malcolm McDowell, Cybill Shepherd and Chloë Sevigny - come off like a second-rate sitcom's castoffs. - 33
The A.V. Club
This sluggishly paced quirkfest is awfully sophomoric for a film all about giving up the facile thrills of youth for the responsibilities of adulthood. - 25
NPR
A deeply off-putting independent comedy. - 10
L.A. Weekly
A dreadfully unfunny slog through contemporary dysfunctional family indie cliché.
