Total Film
The punning title is true; his bracing words narrated by admirers, Fuller’s amazing journey is lovingly honoured. Fuller Life, full of heart. - 60
Village Voice
Two things are clear in this documentary. The first is that Samuel Fuller was brilliant, optimistic, talented -- an auteur in every right -- and well deserving of all the praise and admiration he inspired. The second is that this is a product of a first-time director, not quite experienced enough to take full advantage of the medium or know how to bring every element together. - 60
Empire
Great on his early life, but doesn’t really illuminate his genius as a filmmaker. - 50
The New York Times
It’s a proud film but average.
