Christian Science Monitor
A hilarious and harrowing cautionary tale. - 75
Entertainment Weekly
I do wish that Overnight caught in more precise detail what Duffy, who finally made his film on the cheap at an obscure studio, did to tick off the Miramax powers. Imagining it, though, is half the fun. - 75
New York Post
Brutally funny documentary. - 70

In a tale filled with perverse twists of fate, the most perverse may be that Overnight, not "The Boondock Saints," is Troy Duffy's masterpiece. - 70
The A.V. Club
As Overnight progresses and its title grows increasingly ironic, it paints a mesmerizing portrait of a profane, overbearing monster engaged in a drawn-out act of professional suicide. - 63
New York Daily News
It turned out that he (Duffy) had an ego like a giant ChiaPet. With a little money sprinkled over it, it grew out of control. - 60
TV Guide Magazine
The thin line between self-esteem and hubris is explored in this cautionary tale. - 40
The New York Times
Any movie that makes you root against the underdog, though, is cause for suspicion, and Mr. Smith and Mr. Montana, perhaps aware of this, try belatedly to restore Mr. Duffy's status as a victim.
